TOBY HAS FALLEN ILL

JUST TO LET PEOPLE KNOW TOBY ISNT WELL SINCE MY PARTNER WENT TO WORK HES BEEN MAKING A WEIRD AS IF HES FULL OF COLD AND COUCHING IT SCARED ME TO DEATH SO IM GOING TO SLEEP DOWNSTAIRS AND KEEP HIM NEAR THE FIRE TO KEEP HIM WARM AS ITS -3 OUTSIDE HES STILL ON ANTIBIOTICS AND PAIN RELIEF AND HIS WING IS HEALING NICELY. JUST HOPE HE PULLS THROUGH  . WILL KEEP YOU UPDATED. THE POSITIVE THING AS HES EATING AND DRINKING SO AT LEAST HE WILL KEEP HIS STRENTH UP. I FEEL SORRY FOR THE LITTLE GUY

pmsl toby is better today thanks his wing is getting better day by day. and the noise he was making hes was interpreting someone coughing little bugger. hes lively enough tho

They can fool you easily.  My Ruby sneezes and cough and clears her throat.  All sound just like me.  If I didn't know that she was just imitating me I'd be concerned for her health as she can repeat this over and over sounding as if she very sick. LOL

well im jinxed was in back garden came through to birds and found toby with blood dripping from wing again i immediatley rang the vet and took him they gave me a collar but he didnt like it and eventually got so upset with himself ive had to take it off. ive given him his meds and hes now going to sleep. bleeding has stopped thankfully. got to ring vet in morning

what toby is going through is killing me

u know, i wondered whether he was having you at it regarding the coughing etc, as iv heard it several times before. my grey,poppy," got kennel cough" at the same time as my dogs a couple of years back,which my vet found hysterical when he saw it on facebook  .

i take it he has just had a ho at his old injury again? its hard to know what to do cos the collar will let it heal, but then hes going thru the stress of it which isnt easy either.

bless that little guy hes been thru the mill hasnt he.

just to let you all know toby has been back to the vets this morning hes got a buster collar on they never fitted it properly yesterday he was such a good boy. the stapled his collar hes got two out one to go but have been told to trey and keep it on him. not eaten or drunk since we got back. so am monitoring him. Are there any other collars that birds can wear apart from the buster one?

is the buster one of those cone type things? if it is you can get the ones that are like a disk,which will still allow toby to eat and drink  poor toby,he is going through the mill

yer thats right. but hes bitten it off so i am now on the watch all time discouraging him from nibbling at it

well itsa disk that goes into a cone and the vet stapled it. hes doing well though he sleeps most of the day and when hes awake hes out. you can see how well hes coming on.

lets hope he leaves his wing alone. wonder if there's a feather growing near the wound that could be irritating him?

if he's still struggling with the cone,i'd leave it as it is,a disc shape but make it slightly smaller. i think this is what someone else has done with her grey.it might make eating and drinking more comfortable
