Good Bye, Dobi
« on: October 12, 2011, 09:57:59 PM »
:-[  Our family has to say good-bye to our four year old doberman/rottie.  He nipped at a lil girl last Saturday.  He's such a wonderful dog for our family, but evidently sensed the fear of a little girl that came over.  He growled and nipped at her.  Didn't break the skin, thank the Lord.  We did find a family with a fenced in yard and no kids.  He is getting picked up tomorrow.  I'm still so sad though.  I love him so very much, and he's a great dog, but we simply will not take the chance of this happening again!
Also, my 11 year old labrador has a tumor on her chest.  Because of her age, we won't operate.  We've had her since a puppy too :(

Soon, we'll be left with just Tico & Mason (our 6 year old rottweiler.)  Feeling pretty sad today...just wanted to share.

Good-bye, Dobi, you'll be dearly missed :'( :'( :'( :'( :'(
Keisha & Tico :)

Thanks, Lisa,  tomorrow will be an emotional day, I'll be balling for sure.  I just love him so much.  He gets picked up tomorrow :-[ :-[ :-[
At least he is going to a WONDERFUL home, and we don't have to put him down.

I am glad that you were able to find him a home you can trust versus the alternative.  I will be thinking of your family tomorrow.

oh that is sad  :( would he have got used to wearing a muzzle? i take it you were out on the street when this hapened?  :(

you labrador isnt that old really,i'm sure she would cope fine with an operation. my staffy had an operation when he was twelve and he was fine afterwards  :) if it will save her life then i'd be inclined to have it done

That is a real sad story, but it is better than the alternative.

Thanks, everyone.  Dobi is with his new mom and dad now...I am going to say good-bye tomorrow.  They have a cabin close to us, and they come up North every few months.  I know this is best for Dobi...(I wouldn''t want him to be in a muzzle.)  Never thought of that, but anyway, he will be much happier with his new family, with a fenced in yard...
As for Jasmine,  I think 11 is pretty old for a Lab, and as long as she is happy and running around, We're fine with that.  But I certainly can't see spending $1,000.00 (+) to have it removed,,,with the chance of more coming up.  So for now, she is still very energetic and happy, and we'll keep it that way, as long as God allows.  I just hope poor Mason won't be too depressed, having his buddy, Dobi, gone.  I do think he'll be alright though .

keisha i agree with you on the lab, i would do the same, you have to look at what is in his best interest . sad about the dobe, but at least you have found him another home and secured his future so havnt got to worry, it could have been a far worst scenario...
