I believe all birds that are " green", have a damp smell. Has nothing usually to do with diet.
I don't notice my grey, as having any smell. Some greys LOVE showers and misting, but I believe alot of them hate IT! i think it is important, for new grey owners, to attempt to get them use to water, thru misting at first. ( babies especially). Sophie my grey, has watched us shower Kiki and Sunny, blow dry them, see them in birdie heaven. We always encourage her, she say's politely... " NO THANK YOU!" She's been in the shower, screaming.... " ROM... ROM.... acts like we are murdering her! I'm always waiting for her on the other side... telling her I'm here! Just one minute! Its as hard on me, as her. When she goes to the trimmer, I ask him to mist her. She handles it better, but ocssionally, she needs a quick shower. Nancy
