window perch
« on: July 27, 2011, 06:40:40 PM »
does anyone have a window perch they no longer use? preferably uk,due to postage etc. jasper loves sitting on the window handles, when he's not on his rope, but after a minute or two they start to move downwards so jasper slides off  :(

last time i looked they were about £45 new,i thought i'd ask around to try and get on cheaper  :)

Jules.... don't have a special window perch, but if I can help you buy cheaper in the US, let me know. My birds fly to several windows. Plastic under all   Nancy

Hummmmmm,

I can't imagine putting plastic under any perch, Nancy what are you thinking? LOL

I have so much newsprint spread over the floors at my house people coming in would think that we just toss papers down where ever we happen to be when we finish reading them.

Taking care of birds with open door policy, can be a NIGHTMARE! LOL I know their favorite windows, etc. PLASTIC, PLASTIC, PLASTIC! I am the plastic queen, to catch waste.
I have not unpacked old kitchen. Sophie HATES new cabinets, that " close" on their own! She just wants to run on the granite countertop.... listening to her little feet! She is Soooo easily amused! Back and forth, back and forth! LOL
If that makes her happy, I'm good with leaving all countertop space open. Too much fun, watching her. I made up a new song for her. Starts with  piterpatter, pitterpatter.... she LOVES it!
Its so amazing, they can be such pains in the butt with simple changes, but when they decide they LOVE something new, they truly love IT!  nANCY

What is it with that? I have long suspected that Banter loves the sound of his feet on certain surfaces and marches around just to hear the sound!. Very endearing!

They can be so silly about the subtlest changes.  Cody bird has gotten where very little bothers him.  Now Cher my U2 on the other hand can be just an over the top drama queen of the tiniest things.
I completely rocked her world the other day by rearranging the room where Chicken and her cages are.  I moved their cages to the opposite side of the room and you would think I have positioned a monster in the corner.  When she comes out she just runs to the top and paces stopping to lean out as far as she can to try and peer around the corner into the hallway.
I have graduated from crazy cat lady to crazy bird lady.  Mommy to Cody (grey)  Sonny (citron) Cher(U2) Chicken (Ducorp) Sunny and Maggie (quakers)  4 kids, and an entire menagerie of other critters.

Lisa and Carol, LOL! They are truly drama queens! I actually think Sophie runs faster, to hear her feet on the granite. She got her "special "mischief gleam in her eye the other day.... told her, NO WAY! This is MY kitchen, follow the rules! She said " awwwww!" I know she knows what I am saying! A parent always knows!   Nancy

we have wooden window bottoms so i just spray cage cleaner or f10 and any mess comes straight off. :)

jaspers perch is now on the window permanentley,he sat on his rope today and his stand and ignored the window perch. this is a good sign him getting so close. i told him it was for him and he said 'for you?'  :D :D
