Sometimes Merlin will tremble, especially his chest. Does anyone have any insight as to why he does this. Thanks.

A quote from Bobbi Brinker's Book: FOR THE LOVE OF GREYS

"The trembling movement of a resting Grey's breast feathers is normal. When the breast feathers are relaxed and slightly fluffed, these very light small feathers may tremble slightly in response to the heart beat and respiration."

Cathy Hector quivers when he's fearful eg a strange person, visiting dog, when he knows I'm going to trim his deformed beak.

Beak trimming should only be done by a qualified vet, and if you have trimmed his beak and recently, along with what you have said in your other post today, you need to get him to the vet immediately.

I've been doing his beak successfully and easily for 10 years since the vet freaked him out by cutting too much.

As a medical person, " quivering" for a young bird, is due to an immature nervous system, that is quite normal. It will go away, as they mature. Quivering, out of " fear", is something else. We are all intelligent, and can recognize the difference.
If one quivers out of fear.... this birds issues needs to be dealt with. Recognize the difference is very important for the bird, either way!
When I adopted Sophie, she " quivered". I knew it was fear. We all supported her, told her we knew she was scared. She worked it out, with our support.  Nancy
