Well, alicat, the IRN (Indian Ring Neck) is a good talker as well but it's intelligence and vocabulary is limited compared to an AG. There are a lot of mutations of the IRN. I've got the generic one which is green but I love Lutino (Yellow with red beak and black and orange ring). Other mutations are Albino (White), Silver, Gray, Blue, to name just a few. And all have red beaks with black and orange ring around their necks (only the males, females have a pale ring which is a darker shade of their body color)

He's beautiful.  I love the way he came right back to you.  This video and all the talk about flying makes me want to let my birds wings grow out.  Thke only thing is that I'm afraid they will get hurt.

In the US, most people keep there birds clipped, and I've never seen a bird fly indoors before.

i want to see that too, actually (and have had mini experiences with it)...but i'm clipping cjs again...i've been letting him grow, but too many accidents lately...summertime is not the best time to try, even with screens...i'm gonna keep him clipped till fall...we'll try again come winter...(when were both! stuck inside) ...then he can flap all he wants! LOL

joanne, u wanna come stay here for a few days? youl soon see a bird fly indoors. poppy does a few laps of my 24ft sitting room every morning soon as he gets out his cage.
you get used to skimming an inch above your head and using your head and hair as a safe landing pad after a few circuits . its ok except if you are vaccuuming cos then you dont hear the wings  coming and its a bit of a surprise being grabbed by a little pair of feet from above

Thank you. I have now got to IRN chicks (blue) you can see their pics in the gallery. But I had to clip them as they were prone to accidents and being so tender little things I just couldn't bear them hitting the walls and/or glass window panes. Zaa'Zu on the other hand is more confident now as he usually takes a couple of laps first before landing on my hand.
