Trimmed Feathers
« on: November 26, 2007, 07:10:23 AM »
Hello everybody. I have a bought a 3 month old CAG just 2 days back. The seller trimmed the feathers of my CAG very badly. I want to know how long will it take for them to grow back so that the bird can enjoy low flights. The bird is really beautifull and my family really loves him a lot. He sits on our hands and takes food from our hand also. I just want to see him flying around the house. Can someone tell me how long does it take for the feathers to grow?

Ajay,

Are you able to post a picture?  Aslo have you taken your little one to an avain vet??  If not I recommend that - they can also be a great support.

Each bird is different. It can take any where from 3 months to two years. Depending on how severe the clip was.

Hi there !

via your very cute picture I can't see the "clipping".

Hey, but babies should be babies, shouldn't they??
Walking around and being given private time and, of course, all the love your friends and family feel  ---- WELL----- what more could be asked?

With all the LOVE and all the INPUT, it may actually take the bird longer to test its wings.
That is in no way a bad thing.
as is said "all you can give are roots and wings...the roots are the hard part"......
after she has her roots her love will take wing.                Dana
