Hello and welcome!!

Wings feathers usally grow back but it can take quite a long time. I had Sophie clipped at 13 weeks as well. She is now 8 months and even though some feathers are grown back, not her primary feathers yet. They really clipped more than her primary feathers because at 3 months she was an "exceptionnally" good flyer!!!! She COULD fly high AND fast with her primary flight feathers cut!!!! So now that she is socially trained, I am letting her wings grow back but it is taking a long time.

So if Mable's clip was more than say the first 10 feathers, it could take a while. Also, on the down side, it could also mean a lack of something that could prevent her feather growth. Make sure she is getting calcium (I scrape a little cuttlebone in their morning scrambled eggs), Virgin Palm Oil ( I cook breakfast in it) , and Essential Amino Acids  (eggs, beans, meat). Amino Acid deficiency results in the failure in production of some protein structure, such as enzymes, antibogies, or FEATHERS. Growing birds have higher protein requierements, as do breeding females.

hi karine thanks for reply, i dont thn to be honest its the diet as i said earlier it is a very well balanced healthy diet my birds have, but then id hate to think it was down to diet, she is as healthy and as lively as all the other birds but i wont be having clippings done again thats for sure i just hate to think what shes thinking when the other birds are flying around and she justs sits there watching ive looked at her wings an there are new feathers coming through and im even tempted to remove the feathers myself or take her to the vet what do you think cheers karine, dean.

I wouldn't touch any of her feathers. I would bring her to the Avian Vet and have them check her out.
