bar spacing
« on: September 16, 2007, 01:58:59 AM »
Hello everyone!

I just got a new cage and it's huge! I love it. The only problem is the bar spacing. It's 1.2 inches. I looked at it with a tape measure and it is barely over an inch. I mean honestly you can barely tell it's over 1 inch at all.  I've heard from some people that this is fine and others to get a new cage asap. I do not get to pick up my bird until the end of this month so I still have time. It would be pretty difficult to get a new cage but I would do it if it's absolutely necessary. Help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

My cage is 1" , I would think that 1.2" would be okay.

Every where I read, the recommended was a maximum of 1". 1.2" is a difficult call to make, but if it would be vey difficult to get it replaced then I would say you could keep it.

I guess it's a Macaw cage then?

One inch = 2.54 cm, .2" = 1/5th an inch = .5cm

One fifth extra of an inch should make no difference to be honest, it's the equivalent of 0.5 centimeters.

I had a cleaver response for this but just couldn't bring myself to post it. I guess I'll have to leave it up to your own imagination.

Thanks,

Tip of the Day!

My friend's mum recently pointed out that I have the same ironing board cover as her. Can anyone think of a more mundane and pointless remark to make than this?
