lmao hey Doob! Nice to see someone who agrees with me! lol

I dont believe in clipping unless there is a training/dominance/problem behaviour that nothing else has worked on - clipping is a last resort. And it should be temporary and never used as a substitute for a harness.

Also you should note that, unfortunatly, in america it i the norm to cut birds wings  :'(

Hi all- how can I get my bailey to wear a tether? If he is already very fearful of new things, what is the best way to introduce him to this? Any ideas? Anyone else have a timneh or congo who has had issues in the past with phobic behaviors? I enjoy taking him onto the patio with me, and we stay near the back door in a chair, so he is not out in the open, I realize that he could be spooked and fly, but I dont want to keep him indoors forever. I have put another cage out on the patio, and he sits in there in the mornings for 30 to 45 mins when I am not working, but I would like to try a tether, just dont know that I could get him to wear it--- anyone???

I am about to have the same problem when I get Ghandi's flight suit.  I think that at first I will let him investigate.  Go to pampered peeps  website and they give some advice on introducing the flight suit.  KJ

I let the suit laying around Sophie's cage for few days, then let her touch and bite it. Then I have to be VERY fast!!!!! :D :D The suit I got from PamperedPeeps is very easy to put on, the key is to be fast.

Good luck!! :)

PS: Sophie doesn't really like to put in on though....... :P I make a big point to keep my fingers as far from her beak as possible :D :D

I practiced on a plush toy bird before I tried it on Sophie......Good way to practice your speed!!! ;D
