« on: July 22, 2007, 02:39:46 PM »
I PICKED UP MY GREY SMOKE YESTERDAY AND WHEN WE WHERE OUTSIDE THE OLD OWNER WAS HOLDING HIM AND SMOKE FELL AFTER THAT HE WOULD NOT OPEN HIS ONE EYE THE REST OF THE DAY.  today HE ONLY OPENS IT FOR A SECOND AND CLOSES IT AGAIN. I AM CONCERED ABOUT THIS. ALSO I HAVE TO FIND A BIRD VET IN MY AREA BECAUSE I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE HER CHECKED TO MAKE SURE EVERYTHING IS ALL RIGHT HEALTH WISE.

Does it look like this?

This was Olive with a scratched cornea. It can happen in a fight, an accident during zealous preening, a fall, a scratch, etc.

Get the pookie to the vet.

yup kind of.  now today both eyes are open and clear.  I was worried that she might have scratched it. But now today she looks fine.  I also tried calling a punch of vets to see if they specialize in parrots and found one an hour away.  I am calling back to make appointment. Thanks For your help.
